To save wildlife, we must save wild places.  With humanity’s footprint encroaching on nature everywhere, the need for action is urgent.  The best zoos, wildlife parks, and botanical gardens cause us to fall in love with animals and plants.  They entertain, educate, inspire and can ignite the spark of conservation. They take us inside the world of animals and plants—in zoological and botanical habitats, but also in the wild where field-based conservation initiatives protect their home places.  They champion a culture of conservation—from the local to the global scale.
